Jamie Carragher feels that the national team has been unable to translate the qualification form

Former England defender Jamie Carragher feels that the national team has been unable to translate the qualification form into the Euro 2016 largely because of the absence of a game changer.

England have one of the youngest squads at the Euro 2016 and it is full of exuberant talent like Raheem Sterling, Ross Barkley, and Dele Alli. There are also experienced a name like Wayne Rooney in the mix, but England seem to be largely relying on the aspect of surprise. They have done reasonably well to qualify into the last 16 round of the Euro 2016 without any issues.

Going further ahead and possibly winning the tournament requires much more effort, and it's no real wonder that England crashed out when they did - especially when you consider that, even without using a bet365 bonuscode, you could get England at odds of 20/1 to win the tournament - the bookies certainly knew that England would crash out, even if the fans didn't!?

Carragher says that England would have breezed past the group stages had the possessed a player capable of changing the game in an instant. Teams like Spain, Wales, and France have been able to progress to the last 16 of the tournament largely by virtue of having immense talents like Andres Iniesta, Gareth Bale, and Dimitri Payet respectively.

On paper, England may have such talent but they are yet to produce on the pitch. After having won no major honours since 1966, England would have considered even reaching the semifinals as a success.

Carragher came up with these claims after the Quarter Final draw in the group stages for the national team. "What is becoming more and more obvious is the lack of Champions League pedigree our players have. I'm not sure I'd back them even if I had a betfair promo code! The top performers polish their reputations in that competition and international tournaments such as these and know what is required to win the tight games. England are missing someone to make a difference in the way Iniesta provided a wonderful ball for Gerard Pique in Spain’s opening game against the Czech Republic,” said Carragher after the 0-0 draw with Slovakia in the final group match.
